Madeline Ferguson \m/ Lyrics

There but for the grace of a little black paint go you
declaring yourself god of the godless.
You took the words out of my mouth and separated them from my heart.
You took what meant something and made it mean nothing.
As sure as there are fools there will be mind controls
and they will run in circles back to square one.
We're all searching for something better
but it's no different screaming satan.
You took the words out of my mouth and separated them from my heart.
'Here's to thinking for yourselves,' said the shepherd
to the sheep with black wool.
Explanation: In the late 1800's, Nietzsche wrote a lot about what was wrong with religion. He used Christianity as a prime example of why religion is a bad idea, mainly that it uses a person's emotions to gain power over them. Roughly 75 later, when it was socially acceptable to be rebellious, Anton Lavey cashed in off of these writings, by rewording them, and never crediting Neitzsche. If this wasn't bad enough on it's own, Lavey turned these twisted words into a *religion*, with himself as the "black pope", and marketed it to people fed up with the rules of Christianity (who were too stupid to realize they were joining a religion to show how anti-religion they were).
