Cathrin Schaller Little Witch Frida Lyrics

Once upon a time there lived a little witch called Frida. She lived in a small house in the wood near the famous "Witch Rock". There she lived with her black cat Waggles. Frida was a young witch. She was only 479 years old. She loved to ride her broom. She often flew through the woods and did many loopings. She also loved to cook magic potions and to try out new tricks.

Every Friday all witches met at the Witch Rock. There they changed all their new recipes and new tricks, had dinner and danced together. It was a funny celebration. One Friday Frida was very excited because she wanted to show really brand new tricks to the other witches. Early in the afternoon she started to dress herself and prepare everything for the meeting. She combed Waggles fur and cleaned her broom. She polished her magic wand till it was really shiny.

At 8 o'clock Frida jumped on her broom called for Waggles and both vanished into the night. At Witch Rock all the witches were already busy. After dinner every witch had to show new tricks. Then it was Frida´s turn. She put Waggles on a chair and said: "Now I will show you a brand new, very exciting trick. Now I will turn my cat Waggles into a big wild crocodile !" Frida waved her magic wand and spoke the spell. "Cat to crocodile. Abracadabra aracazam!" There was a big "POFF". But what was that? Instead of a big wild crocodile there was a tiny white rabbit hopping around. Frida got red and immediately did her next trick. She put a small white mouse on the chair and said:" Now I will turn this small mouse into a big lion." Frida waved her magic wand and spoke the spell. "Mouse to lion. Abracadabra aracazam!"There was a big "POFF". But what was that? Instead of a big lion there was a beautiful bouquet of yellow tulips.

The other witches started to laugh. Frida threw the tulips away, put a hamster on the chair and said: "Now I will show you my last trick. I will turn this hamster into a big barking dog!" Frida waved her magic wand and spoke the spell. "Hamster to dog. Abracadabra aracazam!" There was a big "POFF". But what was that? There was a big creature. It was very big but it was violet and had red spots. It didn't look like a dog and it spit fire. "Oh Dear, this is a dragon! Run for your live!" all the witches screamed and ran away.

Frida was very ashamed. She took her rabbit, her bouquet of tulips and her violet dragon and flew home. At home she started to cry. "Oh what had happened? All the other witches will laugh about me!" Frida put the tulips in a vase and went to bed.

On the next morning Frida woke up because somebody was knocking at her door. "Leave me alone!" Frida said and hid her head under her pillow. "What was wrong yesterday, Frida?" the voice outside said. Frida went to the door opened it. It was her best friend Mathilda. "I don't know. Waggles, my lovely black cat is a white rabbit and now I have to live with a violet dragon", Frida cried. "Haven't you learned your spell bounds? Mathilda asked. Frida answered: "I really learned them!" and opened her magic book. "I will show you" she said and started to speak a spell bound. "Oh no, Frida. That's not the right spell. Can't you read? Do you have problems with your eyes? The book says Aracadabra aracazum, not Abracadabra aracazam! You should get glasses!" Mathilda said and laughed.

A few days later Frida got her glasses. They were beautiful glasses and they fitted Frida perfectly. She even looked a bit older. She was very happy. "Now I can see everything. I can read!" she shouted happily and hugged her rabbit, Waggles and her new pet, the dragon. She never made such mistakes anymore and nobody laughed about her.
