"Which Cooking is Bistro Apron" Opening

Narrator: Its that time of the evening again! Tonight, under the industry's undivided attention, the ultimate, the unheard of cook-off challenge event of a lifetime will take place!

"My awareness towards food changed." "Eating became fun." "I'm scared to eat now."...and so on. The show has its pros and cons, but it will start again tonight! "Which Chef Wins the Bistro's Apron!

Narrator: This show will be brought to you by Soga Enterprises known for its Fighting Husband series.

Kaoru: Good evening everyone! I am Kaoru Hanabishi, the Hanabishi Team leader.

Aoi: I am Aoi Sakuraba, the leader of the Sakuraba Team. Thanks for having me.

Kaoru: Now, let me introduce tonight's guests. First of all, Tina Foster!

Tina: Good evening!

Aoi: Chika Minazuki

Chika: Thanks for having me!

Kaoru: And lastly, Miyabi Kagurazaki!

Miyabi: Thank you.

Kaoru: Miss Miyabi has an announcement to make, right?

Miyabi: Yes. My second promotional DVD with images of myself, "Miyabi Kagurazaki's Caribbean Vacation" is now on sale. This time, as a special feature, there is an embarrassing scene featuring Ms. Aoi sleeping. It's a three-hour, un-cut tropical night version where she's scantly clad.

Aoi: What!? Mi...Miyabi...

Miyabi: I'm glad to be here.

Kaoru: I guess you'll do anything for a sale...

Narrator: I will explain the rules. The guests will vote for the Hanabishi team and the Sakuraba Team's dishes that they would like to eat. If you are in the majority, you will get to eat the winner's food that you voted for. However, if you vote for the loser, you cannot eat the dishes. This show will test the guests' knowledge, luck and instinct.

Kaoru: Here is tonight's battle!

Aoi: Everyone loves it! It's a Ramen Battle!

Kaoru: For the Hanabishi team, our chef tonight is an innovative cook. All the way from England, is Mayu Miyuki!

Mayu: Leave it up to me, Mr. Hanabishi! I will do my best!

Aoi: Sakuraba team's genius Pâtissiére chef, who leads the frontlines in innovative cooking of our times, is Taeko Minazuki!

Taeko: Today, I will make a kind of ramen that no one has ever seen before! Expect a great dish everyone!

Kaoru: Let's start by looking at the ingredients. This is what Mayu has prepared. It seems like a lot...the noodle is of a medium thickness and wavy. There's meat, vegetables...blue cheese and durian?

Mayu: Of course, I'm not going to use it all. Cooking is based on inspiration and feeling! I prepared various things so I can cook according to circumstances.

Kaoru: For ramen, the soup is really important. What kind of soup are you making, Mayu?

Mayu: This time, I'm going with a fish-broth.

Kaoru: But it doesn't look like there is anything to make your broth with...like dried sardines, or dried bonito.

Mayu: Oh no, Mr. Hanabishi. The base of the soup is right here.

Kaoru: What? This?

Mayu: When you get to be like Mayu, you don't need dried things. Fish is best when it's fresh!

Kaoru: But...this is fatty tuna, right? Can you extract broth from this?

Mayu: Ye...yes, I can. Making soup from something that no one has thought of is the true value of an innovative chef!

Aoi: Taeko has prepared a lot too. Hmm? Your noodles, the most important thing, is missing...

Taeko: I plan to make my noodles out of flour, instead of using pre-made noodles.

Aoi: Wow. Handmade noodles?

Takeo: Yes. I would like to make an original noodle.

Aoi: This will be interesting.

Kaoru: Of course, these aren't all the ingredients. Here's what we've all been waiting for, the most important ingredient!

Aoi: Natsuki Komiya will deliver Sakuraba team's special ingredient to us. Hmm? Ms. Natsuki? Ms. Natsuki? Um, since Natsuki doesn't seem to be here with us now, let's take a look at this video clip.

Natsuki's special report from the ocean

Natsuki: Hi everyone! I am now here at an ocean located in the south! We'll soon arrive at the area where we'll be able to catch our special ingredient. What exactly is it this time? As a matter of fact, even I haven't been told yet.

Fisherman: Ok, we're here.

Natsuki: So here it is. Alrighty! I will do my best to catch a big one for Sakuraba team's victory. Huh? Where's the fishing rod? Hmm? I'm not going fishing? Oh! I'm going to catch it with a net. Huh? Not a net? Then, with what?

Natsuki: An oxygen tank? Oh! I see! We're going to dive to catch it. So, the special seafood ingredient must be clam, shellfish, sea urchin, or jumbo prawns. Well then, I would like to go ahead and dive with this thing on. (A camera crewmember pushes her into a cage)

Natsuki: Hey! Why do I have to get trapped in a cage! Cage...This is for keeping sharks away! Plus, the spear here. Cou... could it be that the special seafood is...

Fisherman: Girl, you're young, but you have got a lot of guts to challenge sharks with one spear. No worries. Here, you can catch the very best shark fin!

Natsuki: I knew it...

Fisherman: The Great White sharks around here are vicious. One mistake can be detrimental. Be careful.

Natsuki: Just one mistake? What are you saying? Ahh!

Natsuki: For God's sake! I haven't even put on my oxygen tank yet! Huh? Ahhhhhh!

Natsuki: Sharks! Sharks! There are so many sharks! I'm surrounded by them. Wow!

Natuski: Oh, no! They're biting the cage! There're all biting it!

Natsuki: What? No! The cage! Ahhhhhh!!!!

Back to the studio
Aoi: What! Natsuki! Natsuki! Oh my, how could this be!

Natuski: Hi, I've just returned.

Aoi: Oh my, Natuski...I'm glad you're okay.

Natsuki: The sharks bit me a little, but I'm okay. Strength is my only a__et!

Aoi: Well then, let's introduce the special ingredient that Natsuki got for us by risking her life! The very best in shark fin!

Aoi: Wow! This is great. I've never seen such an extraordinarily big shark fin. So, that must mean that Taeko will be making shark fin ramen.

Taeko: Yes! I'd like to make the best shark fin ramen.

Kaoru: After the commercials, we'll be introducing the Hanabishi team's special ingredient.

Commercial
Little Sisters: Big brother!

Narrator: One day, all of a sudden, you became the big brother to an army of 35,000 sisters who are not biologically related to you. As a result, you end up having to command the little sisters to rule the country! However, your adolescent sisters are very fickle but they all still love you. The problem is that there 35,000 of them. You live trying to please each one of the 35,000 sisters, command each one of the 35,000, attend all scheduled evens and go on dates with each and every one of them. Leading this happy yet embarrassing life with a murderous schedule that includes a birthday party everyday, will you succeed in ruling the country?

Little Sisters: ...ooo...Big brother...

Big Brother: Hang in there! The wound isn't deep, hold on Tomomi!

Little Sister: Tomomi?

Big Brother: Oh! My bad! Umm... Ayumi, no. Miho? Not that either...Elizabeth? Nooo! I can't help it, there are 35,000 of you...

Little Sister: Big Brother...

Narrator: Start off with learning their names first.

Romance/Battle simulation game: "Being Suffocated with Sisters." Unfortunately, there is no release plan for it.

Back to the show
Kaoru: Hanabishi team's special ingredient was delivered to us by, as you already know, Chizuru Aizawa. Chizuru!

Chizuru: Yes! I worked hard this time too. Let's watch how it went.

Chizuru's report.

Chizuru: The invaluable thing in ramen is slices of Chinese-style barbecued pork called Char-siu. The Hanabishi team got the information for the very best, extremely rare type of Char-siu. It was made by a legendary master, who is extremely meticulous about details, for the quality of the ingredients and the cooking process. Because of that, there are only a few chunks of pork that are made each year, and we seldom see any of it.

Chizuru: The legendary master lives in the middle of a mountainous area in China. To get here, I must cross a large river, walk through a deep forest, and climb a steep cliff. For the victory of the Hanabishi team, I prepared myself for the trip and departed. "Okay I'm going now!"

Clerk: Step right up! Step right up! Very rare Char-siu made by the legendary cook!

Chizuru: I...I'll have some of that!

Back to the studio
Kaoru: They sell it in your neighborhood?

Chizuru: Yes! It's very rare that we see it, but we ran into it at the local supermarket. We're all set for the shoot but even the director said that it wasn't necessary to go to China, if we could get it right here.

Kaoru: Well, let's take a look at it. The special pork that Chizuru brought us! The rare Char-siu made by the legendary cook!

Kaoru: This is incredible! It looks like ham instead of Char-siu barbecued pork. I've never seen such Char-siu before. That means Mayu is going to be making...

Mayu: Yes. Mayu will compete with the common folks' taste, using the Char-siu.

Aoi: Okay, it's about time we do our tasting.

Tasting Time
Narrator: First of all, we will begin with the Sakuraba team's shark fin ramen. We will taste some of the fin that has been boiled thoroughly in a Chinese soup and has become unraveled. Evidently, their plan is to showcase the quality of their ingredients by having us taste-test it in this way.

Tina: Yum!

Chika: Delicious!

Miyabi: The texture is very good, and the fiber is thick. Such a high quality shark fin is rare, even in the most expensive Chinese restaurants.

Tina: Just imagining a whole piece of this on ramen makes me excited.

Narrator: Their opponent, the Hanabishi team cuts just a thin layer of the rare Char-siu pork for sampling. Can it be tasted with this amount?

Chika: Wow! This is like...

Tina: Roast beef!

Miyabi: I can't believe it's pork. The more I chew it, the more it intensifies in flavor...While many others use stewed pork instead of barbequed pork, I have a feeling we'll get to encounter an authentic Char-siu ramen today. Please do your best.

Kaoru: Let's start making the ramen! Start the cooking!

Cooking Starts

Kaoru: We'll start with the Hanabishi team. Mayu picks up the...special ingredient, the Char-siu. Now, what will she do with it?

Mayu: Fist off, I will cut these into slices that are easy to eat.

Mayu: Compared to the stewed pork, barbequed pork is so hard, so I need to tenderize it well...and to make it even more tender, I will soak it in vinegar.

Tina: Huh? Vinegar?

Mayu: Here I go!

Kaoru: Wow! Um, Mayu I think ...

Mayu: Mr. Hanabishi. The secret philosophy of Mayu's cooking this time is, healthy eating is healthy living. This cooking style is good for the body. The vinegar I'm using is black vinegar. It's good for the health.

Kaoru: No...that's not the problem...

Chizuru: Oh no...my special Char-siu...

Mayu: We'll leave the Char-siu in here until the meat juice has drained out completely, and the vinegar has soaked in.

Aoi: The Sakuraba team has started cooking too. Taeko, what are you doing?

Taeko: Right now, I'm making the original noodle.

Aoi: You're skilled. Hmm? What's this? There are black bits kneaded into the noodles.

Taeko: Those are biscuits. Cocoa biscuits.

Aoi: Bis...

Taeko: I thought of it when I saw ice cream. I thought it'd be interesting with the crunchy texture added to the smooth noodle.

Aoi: I see...

Chika: But that's going to be boiled right?

Tina: What does a boiled biscuit taste like?

Kaoru: Over here, Mayu has started boiling the noodles. Oh...this smell. No way!

Mayu: Mayu is going to boil the noodles in vinegar, not hot water.

Kaoru: I thought so. Is it by any chance black vinegar?

Mayu: Wow! Mr. Hanabishi! Only you would know everything about me!

Kaoru: Mum... I kind of guessed it by the way things were going.

Chika: It's stinging my eyes.

Aoi: Well, Taeko has started cooking the special ingredient, the shark fin.

Taeko: I will use this expensive shark fin unsparingly.

Aoi: Oh no! Taeko! What are you doing?

Taeko: I will chop it up until you can't tell the shape and the texture. And...

Taeko: I will boil it thoroughly in the milk chocolate. This completes the topping, Shark fin chocolate!

Aoi: Umm... Taeko? Why did you put the shark fin in the chocolate?

Taeko: Because, it's better when it's sweet.

Miyabi: Chocolate topping...

Tina: It's not a parfait...

Kaoru: The Hanabishi team has already started finishing up. Wow! The broth taken from the fatty tuna is pooling with oil. What will be combined with this? Soy sauce? Or miso? Oh! The sauce is green! Mayu, what is this?

Mayu: It's kale. It's strong and disagreeable to the taste, but it's really healthy. It's in the genus of the green juice. The best fish soup combined with the king of the health foods. Their combination is...ohhhh! It will leave a new page in the history of ramen.

Tina: Oooo... I think I'm going to get sick

Chika: Hey, manager. Do I have to eat that?

Miyabi: Sorry, Producer. I have an emergency...

Aoi: Taeko is also about to finish her dish. What kind of soup are you using Taeko?

Taeko: My soup is this.

Aoi: It's very red. Red miso...no...Toubanjyan (Korean hot sauce)...not that either. What exactly is this soup?

Taeko: It's watermelon.

Aoi: Watermelon...

Taeko: I used 15 whole watermelons to make this soup. A boiled watermelon soup with fruit juice. And when the biscuit noodle entangles in it, a never-before-tasted collaboration is sure to be born. Ahahahahah....

Kaoru: Mayu is about to finish too! The green juice soup with oil floating in it, and the noodles boiled in black vinegar. The topping, of course, is the Char-siu that only tastes like vinegar. Is the black vinegar chemically reacting to something in the soup? There are mysterious gas bubbles boiling in the green soup. It's like a swamp! The ramen is like a swamp with methane gas coming out of it.

Mayu: Mayu Specialty Char-Siu Ramen is finished!

Aoi: Taeko has also started the topping. Watermelon soup and biscuit noodle. On top of that, a thick and melted shark fin chocolate layer is being poured on.

Taeko: Haaa... Taeko's Special Shark Fin Ramen is complete!

Aoi: Both teams are done.

Kaoru: Well, you don't have time to wonder, guests. It's time for the judging! Are you ready for...huh?

Aoi: The guests are gone...

Kaoru: They escaped...I don't blame them.

Mayu: Huh? Why?

Taeko: It looks so delicious...

Aoi: Kaoru, there's a new teleprompter sign...

Kaoru: Ummm... Since it won't be a show unless the food is judged, the MC's will eat instead of the guests. What? No!

Aoi: W...we're going to eat this?

Mayu: Yes! Mr. Hanabishi! Please eat this ramen filled with Mayu's love!

Kaoru: Huh? Ummm... See...

Taeko: Come on, leader. Don't be shy. Eat! Eat!

Aoi: I...ummm...I'm full right now.

Mayu: Mr. Hanabishi!

Taeko: Leader!

Mayu & Taeko: Come on! Here! Eat! Eat!

Kaoru & Aoi: Oooooo!

Kaoru: Let's eat.

Aoi: Let's eat.

Kaoru & Aoi: Gag!!
